About

Rangeley Lake Guide Service, operated by Shaun Swain, a Master Maine Guide, offers guided fishing trips on beautiful Rangeley Lake in Maine. With forty years of fishing experience on the lake, Shaun provides opportunities to fish for Landlocked Salmon and brook trout while enjoying scenic views, wildlife sightings, and professional instruction. The service includes all tackle and equipment, with full instruction available on request. The guide specializes in Landlocked Salmon, freshwater cousins of Atlantic Salmon ranging from one to seven pounds, known for their exceptional fighting ability. Fishing is fast from ice-out in early May through late June, consistent through July and August using downriggers, and great again in September as larger fish prepare to spawn. Shaun has deep roots in the guiding tradition, as his great-grandfather was a renowned guide on Rangeley Lake in the early 1900s.
