Tailwater Lodge is one of only two Orvis-Endorsed resorts in New York State, located on the banks of the Salmon River in Altmar, NY. The lodge features experienced guides, 2,000+ feet of private water frontage, and offers fly fishing trips for king salmon, coho salmon, and steelhead. The facility is an adaptive re-use of a former elementary school and provides luxury accommodations, an on-site restaurant, pro shop, and an array of amenities including dining, fly tying, and other recreational activities. Guests can enjoy guided trips by swinging flies with two-handed fly rods or nymphing for steelhead and salmon.
